Philadelphia Eagles games sure aren’t fun but maybe you’ll enjoy the ones that Jimmy Kempski and I played on the latest BGN Radio podcast: “Stay or go” and “Bench or no.” It’s yet another episode that some listeners are finding “therapeutic” as they try to cope with this very disappointing season.

LATEST NEWS AND FINAL EAGLES VS. BROWNS THOUGHTS

  • Our Thanksgiving food plans
  • Has Cre’Von LeBlanc played his last snap in Philly?
  • The Jordan Howard signing ... why?
  • Did Jason Peters bench himself at the end of Sunday’s game?
  • The Eagles’ offense is “just such trash,” as Jimmy put it.
  • Are the Eagles going to lose out? Are they really going to finish last in maybe the worst division ever?!

STAY OR GO?

HOWIE ROSEMAN

It’s time. Roseman’s fingerprints are all over this bad Eagles operation. The Super Bowl win was great and he deserves every bit of credit for that season. That year is very much looking like an anomaly in his career, though, and NOT indicative that he’s the right person to fix this mess that he created. Verdict: GO.

DOUG PEDERSON

I hope to write more about this at length but my abbreviated stance on Doug is that he’s receiving a disproportionate amount of blame for the Eagles’ struggles. This isn’t to say he doesn’t deserve blame. I think firing him is reasonable if things continue to go so poorly. But Pederson is hardly the only one to blame for what’s wrong with the Eagles. That said, the offense needs to be a lot better and it doesn’t look like he has the answers. VERDICT: Go.

CARSON WENTZ

The Eagles are stuck with Wentz’s contract so they can’t really get rid of him in 2021. But that shouldn’t necessarily guarantee he’s the starting quarterback. VERDICT: Stay.

BENCH OR NO?

CARSON WENTZ

If/when Wentz further struggles on Monday night, he should absolutely be benched. It’s clear that letting him play through his struggles isn’t working. Besides, he needs to be held accountable. The Eagles need to evaluate just how much Wentz (as opposed to the coaching staff) is to blame for the team’s offensive struggles. They also need to see what they have in Jalen Hurts before potentially being in position to select a top quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft. QB Factory, baby. Verdict: BENCH.

LANE JOHNSON

Not performance-related but to keep him healthy for the long-term. Don’t see the benefit of risking further injury in a lost season. Verdict: BENCH.
