I find myself at a strange place heading into this week’s Philadelphia Eagles game against the Cleveland Browns.
On one hand, I have absolutely no confidence in the Birds.
I mean ... why should I? They’re a bad team that’s not giving us any reason to believe in them.
On the other hand, I couldn’t be more sure that they’re going to win.
That’s just the vibe I’m getting heading into this matchup. The Browns aren’t truly as good as their 6-3 record indicates and they’re missing Myles Garrett. The Eagles elevated Joe Ostman to the roster and they’re wearing their lucky green pants. Things are clearly working in Philly’s favor.
Above all else, perhaps, I feel confident that the Eagles aren’t about to make this easy on us. A loss would justify fans further checking out on this team. A win will only force us to care more than we really should.
And so I see the Eagles winning this game in unimpressive fashion. Always bet on the most frustrating outcome.
