The Philadelphia Eagles officially activated starting left guard Isaac Seumalo from the injured reserve list on Friday evening.
This development was expected. Doug Pederson said Seumalo had a good week of practice and was expected to be ready for the Eagles’ Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns.
Seumalo made two starts earlier this season before suffering a knee injury that landed him on IR. He figures to take over at left guard upon returning. Assuming he’s truly healthy, this is positive news for the Eagles.
Here’s what the entire starting offensive line could look like:
Left tackle — Jason Peters
Left guard — Isaac Seumalo
Center — Jason Kelce
Right guard — Nate Herbig or Matt Pryor
Right tackle — Lane Johnson
Pederson wouldn’t commit to Herbig being ready to play despite the fact he’s not listed on the injury report, which is strange. Herbig was active for Week 10 but didn’t play due to a finger injury.
If Pryor starts over Herbig, the Eagles will be using their ninth different starting offensive line configuration in 10 games this year. To recap:
Week 1 — LT Jason Peters, LG Isaac Seumalo, C Jason Kelce, RG Nate Herbig, RT Jack Driscoll
Week 2 — LT Jason Peters, LG Isaac Seumalo, C Jason Kelce, RG Nate Herbig, RT Lane Johnson
Week 3 — LT Jason Peters, LG Nate Herbig, C Jason Kelce, RG Matt Pryor, RT Lane Johnson

Week 10 — LT Jason Peters, LG Sua Opeta, C Jason Kelce, RG Matt Pryor, RT Lane Johnson
Week 11 — LT Jason Peters, LG Isaac Seumalo, C Jason Kelce, RG ??????, RT Lane Johnson
Note that the Eagles didn’t need to free up a roster spot for Seumalo since they placed Craig James on injured reserve earlier this week. The Eagles also currently have four more open rosters with four players currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
