The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their 2020 NFL Week 8 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The following seven Eagles players have been ruled INACTIVE: Lane Johnson, Miles Sanders, Alshon Jeffery, Cre’Von LeBlanc, Jack Driscoll, Craig James, and Nate Sudfeld.

This means Dallas Goedert, Jalen Reagor, Jason Peters, T.J. Edwards, and Rudy Ford are all officially active after being activated from injured reserve. As expected.

Johnson was originally set to play in this game but the Eagles officially downgraded him to “questionable” on Sunday morning. Then Jay Glazer said that Johnson told him he’d be out due to his knee swelling up. Jordan Mailata is set to make his first NFL start at right tackle with Johnson out. It’ll be interesting to see what the Eagles do if/when Peters and/or Mailata get hurt. The inexperienced Brett Toth is the only other healthy tackle on the roster since Driscoll is also out. Moving Matt Pryor to tackle and putting Sua Opeta in at guard could be the course of action. Not ideal.

Sanders, Jeffery, LeBlanc, Driscoll, and James were all ruled out on Friday’s injury report.

Sanders being out means the Eagles will primarily use Boston Scott at running back. Corey Clement and Jason Huntley will also see some touches. The latter showed some juice in Week 7 and deserves more looks.

Jeffery being out means the Eagles have Reagor, Travis Fulgham, Greg Ward, John Hightower, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Quez Watkins available at wide receiver. Fulgham, Reagor, Ward, and Hightower will likely see the most playing time as the top four options.

LeBlanc and James being out leaves the Eagles with Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox, Nickell Robey-Coleman, and Michael Jacquet at cornerback. Maddox is back for his first start on the outside since getting hurt in Week 3. NRC figures to go back to playing the slot. Jacquet, an undrafted rookie free agent, is active for his first NFL game. Not ideal if he has to play meaningful snaps.

Sudfeld is a healthy scratch for the seventh game in a row. Not the best use of a roster spot and cap space.

Raequan Williams is active for his first NFL game.
