The Philadelphia Eagles are activating the following five players from injured reserve in time for their Sunday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys: Dallas Goedert, Jalen Reagor, Jason Peters, T.J. Edwards, and Rudy Ford. This much is being reported by Geoff Mosher/Adam Caplan and Mike Garafolo.
Goedert’s inclusion here is a bit of a surprise. It was previously reported that the 25-year-old tight end might not be back until after the Eagles’ Week 9 bye. The team is glad to be getting him back sooner than expected following the “very small [ankle] fracture” he suffered in Week 3.
Goedert was leading all Eagles players in receiving yards prior to getting hurt. His return figures to be good news for Carson Wentz and the offense. With Zach Ertz on injured reserve, Goedert figures to be the No. 1 tight end with Richard Rodgers shifting to No. 2. The Eagles might look to waive Jason Croom in order to free up a roster spot for Goedert since they currently only have four vacancies ahead of five players returning.
Stay tuned for when the Eagles officially confirm these activations prior to 4:00 PM Eastern today. In the meantime, rejoice that Goedert is back and Philly is getting healthier before a critical game against Dallas.
