The Philadelphia Eagles don’t play the Cleveland Browns until Week 11 but it’s worth taking a peek ahead with the big news that Odell Beckham Jr. is now out for the season due to an ACL injury.
OBJ was always a problem for the Eagles to deal with in the past. He logged 61 receptions for 732 yards and six touchdowns against Philly as a member of the New York Giants. It was a relief when Dave Gettleman foolishly traded him out of the NFC East.
OBJ would’ve presented a challenge to the Eagles’ defense as a member of the Browns. He ranks first in targets, second in receiving yards, and tied for second in touchdown receptions this season. He also has three rushing attempts for 72 yards and another score. Oh, and he threw an 18-yard completion earlier this season. A weapon in multiple phases.
And one the Eagles won’t have to deal with now that he’s hurt. Make no mistake, Philly could still very well lose their game to the Browns. But Cleveland is now obviously worse off with OBJ out for the year.
