Perhaps I’m giving a 1-4-1 team that ranks 31st overall in DVOA too much benefit of the doubt. But I feel very confident that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to beat the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football tonight.
For as bad as the Eagles are, the Giants are even worse. Perpetual turnover machine Daniel Jones is bound to give the ball away at least once, if not multiple times.
Carson Wentz is playing better. And if Doug Pederson can get Philly’s offense to produce like it has against two of the NFL’s top defenses in recent weeks, then he can find a way to crack the Giants’ code.
It just feels like the Eagles are about to go on a little run here. We all know the next three games are very winnable: vs. Giants, vs. Dallas Cowboys, at Giants. This is their chance to seize the NFC East.
If the Birds don’t beat the Giants, well, that’ll be an entirely new low for them. Because no matter how bleak things might get, they’re always able to beat that team from New Jersey.
Gotta get it done. I believe they will.
