The Philadelphia Eagles officially re-signed undrafted rookie free agent defensive back Grayland Arnold to their practice squad on Thursday morning.
The Eagles waived Arnold on Tuesday. Unlike Casey Toohill, he passed through waivers unclaimed.
Here’s what we wrote about Arnold earlier this week:
The Eagles signed Arnold to their roster ahead of their Week 5 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was his third game being active for Philly after previously being elevated twice from the practice squad.
The Eagles felt Arnold was expendable with Will Parks set to return soon. The team will likely look to bring back their 2020 undrafted rookie free agent signing on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
Wednesday’s injury report revealed that the Eagles are more banged up at safety than expected with both Marcus Epps and K’Von Wallace missing practice. Rodney McLeod might be the only healthy safety currently on the roster with Jalen Mills potentially playing cornerback again. Activating Parks would give the Eagles another body at the position, as would elevating Elijah Riley from the practice squad. But if Epps, Wallace, and Parks all can’t play, the Eagles might need to bring Arnold back up to the roster again.
If not, he’ll continue to remain on the practice squad for now.
See below for a current look at the Eagles’ 2020 practice squad.
