Before the fifth Sunday of the 2020 NFL regular season kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the spreads for the Week 5 games. You can CLICK HERE for straight up NFL picks without regard to the spread. You can find all of the NFL betting lines via DraftKings.
My overall record so far is 32-30-1. I’m tied with the BGN community for the exact same record.
Here are suggestions when trying to beat the odds.
NFL WEEK 4 GAMES
CINCINNATI BENGALS at BALTIMORE RAVENS (-11.5): This line isn’t showing enough respect to Joe Burrow. The Bengals will find a way to cover in a loss. PICK: Bengals +11.5

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-11): The Chiefs didn’t look all that impressive in Week 4 and won comfortably anyway. Pretty impossible to bet against them. Especially with this offense going up against an entirely vulnerable Raiders defense. PICK: Chiefs -11

ARIZONA CARDINALS at NEW YORK JETS (-7): I mean, did you see Joe Flacco play last year? He was bad. Hard to expect him to be much better in an even worse offensive situation. The Cards are having some issues of their own but Kyler Murray will bounce back against the Jets. DeAndre Hopkins is going to go off in this one. PICK: Cardinals -7

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at PITTSBURGH STEELERS (-7): There’s every reason to feel good about the Steelers winning this game on paper. But the Eagles are just so dangerous when you count them out. This tilt might be a low scoring affair so taking the points makes sense. PICK: Eagles +7

LOS ANGELES RAMS (-7) at WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM: The Rams should be able to win this comfortably because, well, Washington isn’t very good. Then again, LA struggled against New York last week. And the Football Team might get that quarterback change bump even though Kyle Allen isn’t likely a long-term answer. He’ll likely be better than Dwayne Haskins, which isn’t saying much. The Football Team covers in a close loss. PICK: Football Team +7

CAROLINA PANTHERS at ATLANTA FALCONS (-2.5): Interesting how the 2-2 Panthers are 2.5-point underdogs to an 0-4 Falcons team that’s playing on short rest. I’m far from a Teddy Bridgewater believer but I do like Matt Rhule a whole heck of a lot more than I do Dan Quinn. The Panthers stay hot with their third straight win. Quinn gets fired on Monday. PICK: Panthers +2.5

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at HOUSTON TEXANS (-5.5): Sometimes you see teams suddenly play a lot better immediately after their ineffective and/or hate-able head coach is fired. The Texans are primed for their best performance of the season with Bill O’Brien gone. Also, the Jags are recently looking more like the team people expected them to be heading into the season. PICK: Texans -5.5

MIAMI DOLPHINS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-8): Hard to bet on the Dolphins when you don’t know what version of Ryan Fitzpatrick you’re getting on a week-to-week basis. I’m going to say he’s hot for this game. The 49ers don’t deserve to be favored by this much. PICK: Dolphins +8
Poll
Which bet do you like more?
NEW YORK GIANTS at DALLAS COWBOYS (-8.5): The Cowboys typically own the Giants but, man, that Dallas defense is just so dreadful. Even Daniel Jones might be able to have success against it. And while the Cowboys can certainly put up points, they could continue to have turnover issues with their offensive line in poor shape. The Giants pull off the upset here. PICK: Giants +8.5

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-1) at CLEVELAND BROWNS: Real interesting matchup between this stingy Colts defense and this potent Browns offense. I’ll take Cleveland to win their fourth game in a row. PICK: Browns +1
Poll
Which bet do you like more?
MINNESOTA VIKINGS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-7): The Vikings are better than their 1-3 record indicates; they’re 1-3 in DVOA. Something makes me think they have a chance to win this game outright despite the fact that Kirk Cousins doesn’t beat good teams and Russell Wilson is fantastic. I’m really going against my brand here. PICK: Vikings +7

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-8): Don’t sleep on Justin Herbert. He’s doing some pretty good things. There are cracks in the Saints’ armor. PICK: Chargers +8
