Cross yet another Eagles offensive coordinator candidate off the list

The never-ending search continues.

Another day, another Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator candidate off the board.

The Eagles were reportedly expected to request an interview with Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks coach Mike Kafka but that will not be happening:

The Chiefs wouldn’t have felt bad for blocking Kafka since they have him pegged as the natural replacement for when some team out there wises up and hires Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy as their head coach.

Kafka was an interesting candidate given how Patrick Mahomes has excelled while he’s been KC’s quarterbacks coach. But he won’t be coming to Philly now.

So, what’s left for the Eagles now that the likes of Kafka, Graham Harrell, and James Urban are off the board?

Answer: Jim Caldwell.

I know I sound like a broken record but I really believe he makes the most sense.

It’d be pretty uninspiring if the Eagles merely went with an internal promotion. Go get Caldwell.
