Andy Reid is going back to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2004 season

Is this FINALLY the year?

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time in 15 years, Andy Reid is headed back to the Super Bowl.

The former Philadelphia Eagles head coach improved to 2-5 in conference championship games by leading the Kansas City Chiefs to win over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game. Final score: 35 to 24.

The Chiefs will face the winner of Sunday night’s NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers.

So, is the the year Reid FINALLY gets over the hump and wins his first Vince Lombardi Trophy as a head coach?

Given all his previous disappointments, it’s a “I’ll believe it when I see it” for me. But I’m rooting for Big Red to get it done.

I’ll admit that it’s much easier to root for Reid now that the Eagles have a Super Bowl win of their own. Had Reid won a title before the Eagles ever did, well, that would’ve been pretty freaking frustrating.

But the Eagles did win Super Bowl LII.

And now here’s to Andy winning Super Bowl LIV.
