Conference championship Sunday gets underway with the AFC Championship matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs — winner goes to Super Bowl LIV.
The Chiefs have been here before, but last year fell to the Patriots in the final division game. This year, New England was knocked out of the postseason in the first week by the Titans — even with Ryan Tannehill at quarterback.
These AFC teams last faced off back in November, with Tennessee coming out on top at home, 35-32, but Kansas City holds the all-time series lead, 29-24. With Mike Vrabel leading the Titans, however, they’ve won the past 3 contests against the Chiefs — including the last time they met in the playoffs, Jan. 6, 2018, when they won in Kansas City, 22-21.
It’s easy to root for the team that knocked the Patriots out of the postseason, because that’s always fun, but if the Eagles can’t win the Super Bowl, Andy Reid might as well.
