A glance at the latest NFL odds shows that the Philadelphia Eagles are the biggest Week 1 favorites. The Eagles are favored by as much as 10 points in some places.
It’s no surprise, then, that Eagles fans are feeling really good heading into Sunday’s game. In fact, SB Nation’s FanPulse results show that the Eagles are actually tied with Cleveland Browns fans (!) for being THE most confident fan base. The Eagles have a whopping 99% confidence rating in FanPulse polling! Expectations are high.

The same cannot be said for the Eagles’ Week 1 opponent: the Washington Redskins. Washington fans rank as the second least confident fan base heading into Week 1 with just a 36% confidence rating. Only the Houston Texans, who check in at 28%, finished lower.

There always seems to be an uneasiness among Eagles fans when the team is favored to win. People get worried that the team won’t live up to the hype.
I say screw that. Where’s the fun in being worried all the time?
Eagles fan SHOULD be confident about Sunday’s game. There’s no need to overcomplicate this: Washington has the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. The Eagles have home field advantage. The Eagles are starting the season 1-0.
Elsewhere in the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys fans might be a little less optimistic than you would expect. The Cowboys only have a 78% confidence rating — which ranks 17th overall — ahead of their game against the New York Giants.

On the flip side, Giants fans might be more optimistic than you would’ve expected them to be. The Giants check in with a 73% confidence rating, which is only one spot below the Cowboys.

The latest NFL odds have the Cowboys as 7.5 home points, for what it’s worth.
In other FanPulse news, this week’s national question aimed to identify the NFL’s most likely “worst to first” team. It sure looks like people are expecting good things out of Nick Foles with the Jacksonville Jaguars:

Despite these results, though, the Jags rank just 28th in confidence rating at 61%.
