It’s finally here! The 2019 NFL season is just days away, and we are officially less that a week from kickoff. We wanted to take an opportunity to welcome new readers, welcome back the fine folks who have been around BGN for awhile, introduce you to our writers and give you a bit of insight into what you can expect from us.
Bleeding Green Nation (BGN for short) is a site for Eagles fans, run by Eagles fans. We aren’t super hot-takey, and do our best to cover the team accurately and honestly — while also including a fair bit of snark toward our rivals, and celebrating victories passionately.
Here’s everything you need to know about our community.
Who we are
We’re a group of Eagles fans who all landed at this blog where we get to write about the team we love and experience the highs and lows of fandom with each other and with all of you.
You can learn more about our staff and how we each contribute with the 8th Annual Definitive Twitter List, put together by our fearless leader, Brandon Lee Gowton (a.k.a. BLG).
And there’s also this handy dandy tweet with our Twitter links for ease:

What we do
We cover the Philadelphia Eagles, from on the ground and afar. We’ve got everything from Xs and Os analysis, day-to-day beat reporting and breaking news. We also celebrated the Super Bowl win for over a year — and let’s be honest, will never stop — and provide (mostly) level-headed roster insight and predictions.
Things are lot more fun and light-hearted around here when the team is doing well, and it’s been a pretty fun ride so far with Doug Pederson at the helm.
Where we do it
You can always count on fresh content, here, at BleedingGreenNation.com. But, you can also find us on Twitter, Facebook, on Instagram, and on our incredibly ranked and highly recommended — don’t just take it from me, the gentle listeners say so themselves — BGN Radio.
When we do it
Twenty-four seven, 365 days a year... someone is always around — and I’m fairly convinced BLG never actually sleeps.
Why we do it
The Eagles haven’t always been good to us, but we sure do love this team, and we’ve stuck by their side as fans through the ups and downs. We all work here at BGN because we love the very unique and involved community of readers, and genuinely enjoy working with each other, too.
We’ve been through the lows of rebuilding and the highs of the first Super Bowl win, and every heartbreaking and uplifting moment in between. From celebrating the Double Doink, to lamenting the many miscues that resulted in a playoff loss to the Saints.
And we’re excited about what’s next!
We’re assuming that if you’re reading this, you feel the same way. There are ways you can express your fandom right here on Bleeding Green Nation, from participating in the comment section on articles to sharing your hottest takes in FanPosts on the site. (Just be mindful that all comments, usernames, and FanPosts fit within our community guidelines.)
So welcome to Bleeding Green Nation. We’re glad you’re here, and we’re looking forward to experiencing what should be a very exciting 2019 season with you.
