Week 4 of the 2019 NFL season was a good one for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Birds didn’t just manage to pick up an incredibly impressive win against the previously undefeated Packers in Green Bay. They also gained some ground in the NFC East with the Dallas Cowboys losing to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football.
Let’s take an updated look at the division standings.
NFC EAST STANDINGS AFTER WEEK 4
TEAM | OVERALL | DIVISION | CONFERENCE |
---|---|---|---|
TEAM | OVERALL | DIVISION | CONFERENCE |
Cowboys | 3-1 | 2-0 | 2-1 |
Eagles | 2-2 | 1-0 | 2-2 |
Giants | 2-2 | 1-1 | 2-1 |
Washington | 0-4 | 0-3 | 0-4 |
The Cowboys were getting a lot of hype for their 3-0 start despite merely defeating three of the NFL’s worst teams. That should cool off a little now that offensive genius Kellen Moore only led Dallas to 10 points and bonafide elite quarterback Dak Prescott only managed a 73.2 passer rating in New Orleans.
Winning in the Big Easy is difficult, as the Eagles would know, but these Saints were looking pretty beatable with Teddy Bridgewater under center. He stunk. And yet the Cowboys still couldn’t win.
That’s too bad.
Next up for the Cowboys is a home game against the Packers, who will be coming off extra rest. A Cowboys loss to Green Bay combined with an Eagles win over the Jets in Week 5 would have both NFC East teams at 3-2.
That could be nice.
