Eagles fans rooting guide for Week 4 games

Here are the teams you should be rooting for ... and against.

NFL: New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The fourth Sunday of the 2019 NFL season is here and the Philadelphia Eagles are off after defeating the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night. Here’s a rooting guide for all the remaining Week 4 games.

NFC EAST

WASHINGTON AT NEW YORK GIANTS: Washington is in a deeper hole than the Giants are. Washington is 0-2 in the division and 0-3 in the conference while the G-Men are 0-1 in the division and 1-1 in the conference. With that in mind, the Eagles should want to see the Giants lose. Don’t need to be hearing how Daniel Jones is the next greatest thing. Root against the Giants.

DALLAS COWBOYS AT NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: An Eagles win coupled with a Cowboys loss would really make Week 4 perfect for Philly fans. Unfortunately, there’s zero chance Dallas drops this game. Root for the Saints even though they won’t win.

NFC TEAMS

TENNESSEE TITANS AT ATLANTA FALCONS: Root for the AFC team over the NFC team, especially when the NFC team has a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Eagles. Root for the Titans.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AT DETROIT LIONS: Root for the AFC team over the NFC team, especially when the NFC team has a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Eagles. Root for the Chiefs.

CAROLINA PANTHERS AT HOUSTON TEXANS: Root for the AFC team over the NFC team. Root for the Texans.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS AT LOS ANGELES RAMS: The Eagles won’t be able to catch LA in the NFC if they keep winning. The consolation prize here is that every Bucs loss makes the 2020 seventh-round pick they owe to the Eagles a little better. Root for the Bucs.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS AT ARIZONA CARDINALS: The Seahawks are a bigger threat in the NFC than the Cardinals. Root for the Cardinals.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS AT CHICAGO BEARS: The Vikings are a bigger NFC threat than the Bears. Neither team has a good quarterback but Minnesota does have a good defense and a top running back talent in Dalvin Cook. Root for the Bears.

DRAFT PICK WATCH

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS AT BUFFALO BILLS: The Eagles acquired the Patriots’ fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft from the Michael Bennett trade. Might as well root for it to be as high as it possibly can be. Plus, screw the Pats. Root for the Bills.

WHAT’S LEFT

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS AT MIAMI DOLPHINS: Don’t want Washington getting a better draft pick than the Dolphins. Root for the Chargers.

OAKLAND RAIDERS AT INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: Here’s to you, Frank Reich. Root for the Colts.

CLEVELAND BROWNS AT BALTIMORE RAVENS: Doesn’t really matter but I’d argue the Ravens are more likeable than the Browns. Might as well root for the Pats to have competition for the top seeds in the AFC. Root for the Ravens.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS AT DENVER BRONCOS: The Jags will be less likely to trade Jalen Ramsey if they keep winning. Root for the Broncos.

CINCINNATI BENGALS AT PITTSBURGH STEELERS: Who cares?
