Jason Peters, Andre Dillard, and Derek Barnett questionable to return in Eagles vs. Lions

The Eagles’ left tackle position is looking a little light at the moment.

Well, the Eagles were able to make it until late in the first quarter before seeing their first injury in Week 3 against the Lions.

With just over a minute left, Derek Barnett was injured and was seen slowly walking off the field before going directly into the medical tent for evaluation. He returned to the bench shortly after that.

Then, the Eagles’ left tackle position was hit with a one-two punch. First Jason Peters was sidelined in the second quarter, and then his backup, first-round pick Andre Dillard, suffered a knee injured on the next drive. Dillard was down on the field for a bit before walking off the field rather gingerly.

Big V has been cross-training at guard all off-season, but is back at left tackle to fill the role. Unfortunately, the team doesn’t have a ton of depth behind him, including Matt Pryor — who hasn’t played in a game since being drafted in 2018 — and Nate Herbig who is inactive for today’s game. Plus, Jordan Mailata was put on IR yesterday, so he’s not an option either.

Hopefully Peters will be able to get back into the fold sooner rather than later.
