Some big news out of Jacksonville this evening: Jaguars star cornerback Jalen Ramsey has requested a trade, according to both ESPN and NFL Network.
CB Jalen Ramsey’s agent asked for a trade after yesterday’s loss at Houston, league sources tell @mortreport and me

The Jaguars have spoken with interested teams, but there is no current plan to trade Ramsey.
The Jaguars are asking teams for at least one first-round pick in return for Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey, but want more than that in return, per sources.

One of the best pure cover corners, Jalen Ramsey wants to play man-to-man and lock a WR down. One issue has been having him play zone https://t.co/7RIlT8bx4X

It’s fair to suggest that Eagles executive vice president/general manager Howie Roseman will be checking in on this since, well, he’s always looking into potential trades.
So, will the Eagles end up acquiring Ramsey prior to the October 29 deadline?
Ramsey’s talent is alluring. The No. 5 overall pick from the 2016 NFL Draft is just 24 years old and he’s already earned two Pro Bowl appearances in addition to first-team All Pro honors. Ramsey, who hasn’t missed a single game in his career, has logged nine interceptions and 45 passes defensed in 50 career starts. He’s arguably the best cornerback in the NFL. The Eagles could certainly afford to have Ramsey’s skills in their own ranks, especially after watching Ronald Darby struggle to cover down the field in Week 2. Better coverage could give Philly’s pass rush more time to get pressure.
While trading for Ramsey would undoubtedly upgrade the Eagles’ defense, I don’t think he’ll be ending up in Philly. Ramsey is currently signed through the 2020 season but he’s looking for a big pay day. Between his contract demands and the high price to acquire him, I don’t think the Eagles will be pulling the trigger.
Jags CB Jalen Ramsey's trade request comes as 3 of the 4 guys taken ahead of him in the 2016 draft (Goff, Wentz, Elliott) have landed monster second contracts. That, plus the public clashing with Doug Marrone, are part of the equation here.

Still, it’s fun to think about the Eagles acquiring Ramsey. Just like it’s fun to think about them acquiring Minkah Fitzpatrick. Maybe Howie will find a way to pull it off.
But we all know they’d just get hurt during their first game suiting up for the Eagles anyway.
