The Philadelphia Eagles gave their fans a scare before ultimately leaving Week 1 with a win. Now the team will try to advance to 2-0 by beating the Falcons in Atlanta.
The Eagles obviously have a history with this team; they’re 3-0 in their last three games against the Falcons. But all of those matchups have taken place at Lincoln Financial Field. And the last two have been one score tilts that’ve come down to the wire. They easily could’ve gone the other way.
History suggests the Eagles could find it tough to win in Atlanta. The Eagles are 1-3 in their last four games down in Georgia and the one win came over backup quarterback Chris Redman back in 2009.
But these trends might not matter much if it turns out that this year’s Falcons team just isn’t any good. And it certainly seems like that’s at least possible given how the Falcons struggled in their Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
The Eagles have a big test ahead of them on Sunday Night Football. A win here will have fans feeling pretty good about their outlook. A loss will only heighten some of the concerns coming out of the Eagles’ Week 1 victory. Should be a fun one. Get ready to stay up late.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
