The Los Angeles Chargers recently gave Melvin Gordon permission to seek a trade since the two-time Pro Bowl running back is looking for a new contract and the Bolts don’t seem willing to pay him what he desires.
The Philadelphia Eagles don’t make sense as a landing spot for Gordon but this didn’t stop people from getting in a frenzy when Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times pointed out that Gordon started following the Eagles on Instagram. Here’s the proof:
Melvin Gordon is indeed now following the Eagles on Instagram. pic.twitter.com/LEba8hiae4

The only other NFL team Gordon is following on Instagram is his current one: the Chargers.
OMG, WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
I already typed it in the headline: probably nothing!
The Eagles seem happy with their backfield quartet of Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, Darren Sproles, and Corey Clement. Generally speaking, they’re just not the kind of misguided organization that’s going to give up significant asset(s) for a running back and then pay him big money.
So, yeah, this article was probably a waste of time. Just like the blog posts pointing out Le’Veon Bell was showing interest in the Eagles on social media.
UPDATE: Gordon is now following other NFL teams on Instagram as well. This clearly means he’s going to play for multiple squads this season.
