Despite reports earlier in the week that DeSean Jackson broke the ring finger on his left hand, Dave Spadaro is now saying that the wide receiver’s injury is considered “minor” and Jackson WILL be on the field for Week 1 against Washington.
As I reported on the TV broadcast a moment ago: @DeSeanJackson11 “will play” on September 8 against Washington. The injury he suffered during the week of practice to his left ring finger is “minor,” so ignore any other reports out there. DJack is going to be just fine.

Aside from all the obvious reasons to be happy that Jackson’s injury isn’t more severe — particularly with something that could affect his catching ability — him being able to make his triumphant return to Lincoln Financial Field after a few years away is something to be excited about.
Eagles fans have already welcomed him back in NUMEROUS ways, but I would imagine both him taking the field and him making his first catch for Philadelphia in the regular season, will create a roar so loud it might even be noticeable on a seismometer.
Jackson was one of very few offensive skill players who were in some kind of jeopardy for Week 1, so Washington should prepare to face the full force of star power from the Eagles offense.
