This is primetime for Howie Roseman, who has been making more moves in the past week or so than he did most of the offseason. The Eagles are now reportedly signing right tackle Riley Mayfield, a former undrafted free agent who formerly spent some time in Tampa Bay, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Mayfield earned a spot in the Buccaneers’ rookie camp earlier this spring, and was signed shortly thereafter, but was waived in late-July.

The right tackle went undrafted out of North Texas, and his college profile lists him at 6-foot-7, 302 pounds. He was a two-year starter at North Texas, following an early collegiate career that earned him honorable mention all-conference as a redshirt sophomore in 2016 at Abilene Christian after missing the 2015 season due to injury.

The Eagles are likely signing Mayfield to fill some snaps for them during Thursday’s preseason finale against the New York Jets. Note that Jordan Mailata didn’t practice this week since he’s dealing with a back injury.

It remains to be seen who the Eagles cut to make room for Mayfield on the 90-man roster.
