The Eagles had more than a few issues in the first half of Thursday’s preseason game against the Ravens — including like, a million penalties — but things finally looked a little decent with a great Josh McCown to JJ Arcega-Whiteside touchdown.

McCown has been with the Eagles for less than a week, but with his veteran experience, was already changing up protections and calling his shot at the line of scrimmage, and had found a pretty consistent connection with Arcegatron, including this gorgeous 20-yard TD pass.

The rookie wide receiver has been expected to be a red zone threat for the team since he was drafted, thanks to his large size and ability to make contested catches, and this was probably the best proof we have so far that he’ll live up to expectations.

McCown and JJAW connected on another big play two drives later for 35 yards, totaling 8 catches on 9 targets for 104 yards with five minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The rookie receiver saw far more action than the rest of the wideout group, with nearly double the targets of any other offensive weapon through three quarters.
