Enjoy the Manning Face while it lasts!
When and where: Week 14 MNF in Philly, Week 17 in New Jersey
Last season: 5-11. Offense: Scoring 16th, Yards 17th, DVOA 13th; Defense: Scoring 23rd, Yards 24th, DVOA 24th
Notable additions: Antoine Bethea, Golden Tate
Notable losses: Odell Beckham, Landon Collins, Jabrill Peppers, Olivier Vernon, Kevin Zeitler
What are they good at?
Nothing. Saquon Barkley is good, but when you’re coming off a 5-11 season and your best player is a running back, you stink.
What are they bad at?
There’s a very good case to be made that the Giants under Dave Gettleman are the worst run team in the league. Last season was awful, he hired a bad retread head coach, should have started a rebuild but instead stood pat in the draft, took a RB, and dole out dumb contracts in free agency. This season is even worse: he traded his best player, reached for a QB, and traded away or let walk two of the three good players on his defense. The Redskins had a better plan this year.
There’s just enough talent at the skill positions to probably keep this from being the worst team in the league, but it’s not hard to see them going 2-14.
Why the Eagles will win
While eventually all streaks are snapped the Giants have not only done nothing to improve from the team that has lost five straight games to the Eagles, they’ve gotten decidedly worse.
Why the Eagles will lose
Because the Week 17 game is meaningless and so Carson Wentz, Fletcher Cox, Zach Ertz and others sit, the Eagles B team loses to the Giants starters. This is the best case scenario for the Eagles: they have their playoff spot locked up with a game to go and can potentially cause a little bit of damage to the Giants draft.
