Teams are reporting for training camp and quite a few squads are making roster moves already, including the Green Bay Packers who released defensive tackle Mike Daniels.
Mike Daniels now becomes a free agent; preference would be to sign with Super-Bowl contender. https://t.co/IGyLj7kZ77

Daniels has 7 seasons under his belt, all with the Packers, and was a Pro Bowler in 2017. He missed just 4 games during his first 6 seasons, and six games last year — the DT suffered a foot injury in Week 11 and finished the 2018 season on IR. Still, he’s accounted for 236 total tackles, 29.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception during his career.
The DT didn’t participate in OTAs, but it was reported that this was just as a precaution and that his foot injury wasn’t expected to be an issue for training camp or regular season. Daniels was set to earn $8.1 million in base salary this season.
While the former Pro Bowler is looking to sign with a Super Bowl contender, the type of role he’s interested in would determine whether or not the Eagles are an option. As far as the team goes, they do have one extra roster spot available (at the moment) and could look to add a veteran defender — especially at that price point.
But as BLG noted:
Can’t see Mike Daniels wanting to come to the Eagles since they already have Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, and Timmy Jernigan. But man would that be a crazy good DT rotation if they added him.

Daniels was, however, expected to take a reduction in snaps in Green Bay this season with their added depth at the position, so the 30-year old might be looking for somewhere he can rotate in rather than take a majority of snaps.
