You’re not wrong to have high expectations for the Philadelphia Eagles. Several factors point to them being a well constructed team with an excellent head coach at the helm. Just how good are they? Are they 2017 good?
Benjamin Solak seems to think so. If the Eagles’ 2019 roster is indeed up to par with the 2017 roster, or better, is there another team that could challenge them as the most loaded squad? Solak thinks the New Orleans Saints have a strong case. He recently praised the Saints’ talent in his piece for The Draft Network:
“This roster is deep, good, and importantly, proven: they were just that one play away from a Super Bowl bid, as I’m sure the bayou well remembers.” - Benjamin Solak, Traitor
If the Eagles aren’t the most loaded, it’s darn close. There’s also further reason for high expectations considering the adversity they dealt with in 2018. Despite checking in as the second worst team in Football Outsiders’ “adjusted games lost”, they won a playoff game. In fact, they were the team most impacted by injuries to notch a win in the playoffs since the metric was created over a decade ago. A regression to the mean could spell big things for the Eagles in 2019.
