1st and 2nd Round Predictions Based on Prospect Visits

Hey everyone, it's a slow day for me so I decided to read the BGN article about Derrell Henderson visiting Philly. Well at the bottom of that article there is a list of prospects that the Eagles have met with.

https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2019/4/9/18303458/darrell-henderson-eagles-running-back-philadelphia-memphis-nfl-draft-2019-visit-news-highlights-rb

I decided to make a list and see if I could find any clues as to what the Eagles might do with their first 3 picks. Listening to Howie speak last month one thing stuck out to be, Howie will build this team through the trenches. The team places a premium grade on DL/OL that's a just a fact and a big clue as to what they intend to do.

I then proceeded to calculate their Avg. Position Ranking using four random websites (CBS, Draft Network, Walter Football, and DraftTek) using their filters and positional rankings I compiled the following table and sorted everything by prospect position:

Using these websites, I calculated an average Projected Draft Round for each prospect. Using this data, I created a Pivot Table/Pie Chart and tried to see how I could make sense of all this information:

So, one thing that sticks out to me is that the Eagles have been looking at late round DL and OL with 5 out of the 8 players that I projected to go in the 1st round. Then, with the 2nd round picks they tend to be a bit broader. However, it is important to note that there are 3 WRs with 2nd round grades that the Eagles have been looking at. There are also 2 Safeties and 2 DE's with 2nd round grades.

After looking at the data I have come to the following conclusions:

1. The Eagles will be picking a DL with their 1st Round pick. (If Oliver drops, Howie will get him)

2. Expect the Eagles to draft a S/DE with their first 2nd Round pick.

3. Expect the Eagles to draft a WR/DE with their late 2nd Round pick.

4. DO NOT EXPECT a RB to be drafted before the 4th Round.

This is not scientific in any way and I expect things to go differently if trades start to go down in the middle of the first rounds. Thanks for reading, I look forward to your comments.
