Each day that passes is another day closer to the truth about where this quarterback class gets drafted. With several teams in need of an upgrade or long-term solutions, things could get weird during the first night of the 2019 NFL Draft.
In his latest mock draft, Daniel Jeremiah had a total of four quarterbacks going in the first round. On The QB Scho Show #22, I asked Mark Schofield to give his thoughts on the fits. Here’s the four we covered:
- Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) to the Arizona Cardinals at #1 overall.
- Daniel Jones (Duke) to the New York Giants at #6 overall.
- Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State) to the Cincinnati Bengals at #11 overall.
- Drew Lock (Missouri) to the Green Bay Packers at #30 overall.
The big bombshell here is Lock to Green Bay, where he’d have to coexist with Aaron Rodgers. It would be an extremely entertaining 30 for 30 one day. The one that I’m most hoping for is Jones to the Giants. Best case scenario is they package both first round picks to move up and ensure they get their man. If you couldn’t tell, I’m not the biggest Jones believer.
We cover that and take stock of the quarterback rooms across the NFC South in The QB Scho Show #22! Could the Carolina Panthers be in on an early round quarterback given Cam Newton’s status?
