2019 NFL Mock Draft: Oakland Raiders take everyone’s favorite running back

New, comments

With the 27th overall pick in the 2019 Bleeding Green Nation community mock draft, Oakland Raiders GM SLC Eagle selects ...

Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama

“You don’t draft running backs in the first round”, we’ve all heard it endlessly on the message boards. If you want that instantaneous comment section cred, you go offensive line here. You say the Raiders just dumped Pro Bowl guard Kelechi Osemele for peanuts. Options such as Chris Lindstrom is still available. The problem is, Raiders fans remember last year and the reach for Kolton Miller and I think Lindstrom is really a second round guy.

Josh Jacobs is a playmaker. Josh Jacobs will get those millions of Alabama faithful rooting for that new Las Vegas team. You don’t draft an RB in the first round, I get it, but the Raiders have 3 first round picks and that gives them a ton of flexibility. They have built up the defense early in this draft and now it is time to help Derek Carr. They basically are trading an unenthusiastic, unexciting player in Amani Cooper for the sexiest pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He can break tackles and get that short yardage first down, he can catch, then he can beat you with speed for the big play.

Probably won’t win the popularity pick with this selection and shitty write up but that’s cool. Thanks for letting me participate.
