The 2019 NFL schedule won’t be officially unveiled until 8:00 PM Eastern tonight but we already some noteworthy leaks have already emerged. The Philadelphia Eagles are set to host the Washington Redskins in Week 1 before traveling to play the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, according to the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane.
The last time the Eagles opened the year against Washington was back in 2017, when Philadelphia defeated their NFC East rivals by a final score of 30 to 17. The Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl that season. My math tells me the Eagles are primed for another Lombardi Trophy if the Eagles beat Washington in Week 1 this year. That’s how it works, right?
The Washington game is set for a 1:00 PM Eastern start time. The Falcons game, meanwhile, is scheduled to be a Sunday Night Football affair that starts at 8:20 PM Eastern.
