Eagles seemingly host Justice Hill on pre-draft visit

Philly continues to do homework on running backs.

NCAA Football: Texas at Oklahoma State Rob Ferguson-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are seemingly hosting Oklahoma State running back Justice Hill on an official pre-draft visit. Hill posted the following picture on his Instagram story:

Hill is now the fifth known running back prospect the Eagles have brought to the NovaCare Complex leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft. The team is clearly still taking a hard look at that position despite trading for Jordan Howard.

The 5-9, 198 pound Hill is on the smaller side but that didn’t prevent him from being productive in college. Over the last three years, Hill logged 632 rushing attempts for 3,539 yards (5.6 average) and 30 touchdowns. He also had 49 receptions for 304 yards (6.2 average) and one score.

Hill was one of the biggest “winners” coming out of this year’s NFL Combine. He showed off impressive athleticism, as seen below (via Mockdraftable):

BGN’s Michael Kist has Hill as his ninth best running back in this year’s class.

The Eagles are likely enticed by Hill’s big play ability. He’s another back who projects as a complement to Howard.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein pegs Hills as a late Day 2 or early Day 3 pick. He also listed Phillip Lindsay as Hill’s NFL comparison. Full scouting report below:

Hill is an undersized but excitable runner with a go-go tempo that can work for and against him on any given series. He runs tough along the interior and has the vision and agility to slip tackles, but his lack of size and explosive top-end play speed could work against him. Hill might not have the skills needed to handle third-down duties, so he could be pigeon-holed as a try-hard backup with average upside.
