Will the Eagles pick one of the 23 players attending the 2019 NFL Draft?

23 prospects from the 2019 NFL Draft will be attending this year’s big event in Nashville, Tennessee. The league officially announced the following list on Tuesday evening:

CB DeAndre Baker

DE Nick Bosa

WR Marquise Brown

DE Brian Burns

LB Devin Bush

OT Andre Dillard

TE Noah Fant

OT Cody Ford

TE T.J. Hockenson

RB Josh Jacobs

QB Daniel Jones

QB Drew Lock

WR D.K. Metcalf

QB Kyler Murray

DT Ed Oliver

DE Montez Sweat

OT Jawaan Taylor

LB Devin White

DT Christian Wilkins

OT Jonah Williams

DT Quinnen Williams

I’m always interested to see this list when it comes out. I can’t help but wonder: “Will the Eagles select one of these players?” It’s just nice to see Philly’s first-round pick holding their new Eagles jersey up on stage ... as opposed to merely viewing a highlights package presented by the TV broadcast.

The last two Eagles first-round selections to physically attend the NFL Draft were Carson Wentz and Derek Barnett. Philly was picking much higher in those years (No. 2 and No. 14, respectively) than they are this year.

With that in mind, a number of these players won’t be on the board by the time the Eagles pick. It’s possible none of them are still in the green room.

If I had to guess, I think the following prospects could realistically be in play for Philly’s first-round pick.

Ed Oliver (trade up)
Christian Wilkins
Cody Ford
Josh Jacobs
Marquise Brown
Deandre Baker

We know that Oliver, Wilkins, Ford, Jacobs, and Baker are on the Eagles’ radar since Philly has hosted them on pre-draft visits. Landing one of Oliver, Wilkins, and Ford would be most preferable considering how important it is to build through the trenches.
