Antonio Brown reportedly traded to the Bills ... or not! [UPDATE]

Out of left field.

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

*UPDATE: The trade fell through and the Bills won’t be acquiring Antonio Brown. Welcome to the NFL offseason! Original story below.*

Wake up! Antonio Brown has been traded. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports the Pittsburgh Steelers are sending their star wide receiver to the Buffalo Bills, which is ... unexpected?

I’m not sure what the Bills are doing here, and it remains to be seen what they gave up, but it appears they’re getting AB.

This news is relevant to the Eagles because they were previously linked to Brown. A couple weeks ago, NFL executives told ESPN they saw Philadelphia as a potential landing spot for Brown. There was a report from earlier this week that said the Eagles were a “team to watch” regarding Brown.

Of course, there was also a report from the Inquirer’s Zach Berman that the Eagles did not have interest in Brown. Eagles fans also were not interested in acquiring him:

Assuming he actually reports to Buffalo, the Eagles will potentially have to face off against Brown in 2019. The Eagles are scheduled to play the Bills on the road this year.

It was possible the Eagles were going to have to play Brown twice a year with Washington also being interested in him but the Bills ultimately won out.
