UPDATE: C.J. Mosley is reportedly signing a mega contract with the New York Jets worth $17 million per year.
Sources: Former #Ravens LB CJ Mosley is expected to sign with the #Jets on a massive 5-year, $85M deal worth $51M guaranteed. That’s $17M per year. It took a lot to leave Baltimore.

The Philadelphia Eagles are among the teams “likely to be in” on free agent linebacker C.J. Mosley, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The other suitors said to be in the mix for the former Baltimore Ravens linebacker include the New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, and Washington Redskins.
Mosley doesn’t seem like a realistic free agent target for the Eagles. Sure, Philly has a need for a starting linebacker with Jordan Hicks potentially leaving in free agency. But it’s hard to see them paying big bucks for the top linebacker on the market. Spotrac projects Mosley’s next contract to be worth $10.6 million (!) annually, which is top five linebacker money.
It is worth noting that Mosley does have some connections to the organization. Joe Douglas was still with the Ravens when Baltimore selected him No. 17 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. Mosley was also rumored to be one of the six players the Eagles really wanted with their first-round selection that year.
Still, Mosley likely won’t be ending up in Philly. The expectation here is that the Eagles will be going a more economical route to address their potential need at linebacker.
