Super Bowl LIII is over and all 32 NFL teams are 0-0 again. With that in mind, it’s never too early to look ahead to next year’s big game. Jeff Sherman of SuperBookUSA put out odds for Super Bowl LIV in 2020.
The Philadelphia Eagles, who won the Super Bowl exactly one year ago today, are tied for the 11th shortest odds at 20/1. I think that’s that a tempting bet.
On one hand, it’s hard to know exactly what the 2019 Eagles are going to look like. There could be a decent amount of turnover this offseason with key players like Nick Foles, Brandon Graham, Jason Peters, etc. potentially not coming back.
On the other hand, Doug Pederson has proven to be one of the best coaches in the league. And we all know that Carson Wentz has an incredibly high ceiling. Pederson and Wentz certainly weren’t without their struggles during the 2018 season but there’s reason to be optimistic about that duo. There are crazier bets to make than putting $10 on an Eagles Super Bowl win to potentially earn $200.
Six of the 10 teams with shorter odds than the Eagles are in the NFC. One of them is a division opponent.
