Discussing overrated and underrated NFL Draft prospects

The Kist & Solak Show #79!

NCAA Football: Florida at Florida State Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

Every year players fly up and down NFL Draft big boards and every year there are prospects either receiving or not getting hype that we just don’t understand. This 2019 class is no different. From press corners that can’t press to running backs that can’t run, we cover them all on The Kist & Solak Show #79!

For a sample of who we talked about, some of the players I highlighted include:

“...hyped as an athletic prospect, but his tape left a sour taste. His games against Michigan and BYU were particularly troubling and his balance issues are too much for me to gloss over.” - Me, Michael Kist

  • Vanderbilt cornerback Joejuan Williams has been getting a ton of love lately but I can’t see myself joining the hype train. He’s a long, leggy press man corner that has questionable deep speed. Worst of all, his press technique from his hands to his feet needs a ton of work. Put on his Georgia film and you’ll see why I’m incredibly concerned about the holes in his game.
  • I wrote up Florida safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in my top 5 piece, but he’s climbed even further after watching more film. You won’t find many free safety/strong safety/nickel combos in this class or at all and he can fit all three roles. He’s now top 20 player on my board and has overtaken Alabama’s Deionte Thompson as my second ranked safety in the class.

Hear about those players and all of Benjamin Solak’s overrated/underrated prospects on The Kist & Solak Show #79! Listen to it on the media player below or click here if the player doesn’t load. New to podcasts? Check out our guide on how to listen to BGN! FLY EAGLES FLY!
