Eagles vs. Giants Week 17 inactives

The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their 2019 NFL Week 17 game against the New York Giants.

The following seven Eagles players have been ruled INACTIVE: Zach Ertz, Nelson Agholor, Lane Johnson, Jalen Mills, Shareef Miller, Nate Sudfeld, and Sua Opeta.

Ertz was ruled out on Friday’s injury report after failing to practice all week. New reports indicate the Eagles’ leading receiver is likely done for the season. The Eagles will have Dallas Goedert, the recently re-signed Richard Rodgers, and Joshua Perkins active at tight end. Need a really big game from Goedert.

Agholor was also previoulsy ruled out on Friday. The Eagles will be down to Greg Ward, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Robert Davis, and Deontay Burnett at wide receiver. Burnett was promoted from the practice squad earlier this week.

Johnson is out after being ruled questionable to play on the final injury report. He didn’t practice at all leading up to this week’s game so his absence doesn’t come as a surprise. The fact he was ruled questionable could indicate he’ll be ready to return in the wild card round ... if the Eagles make it to the playoffs. In the meantime, Halapoulivaati Vaitai will continue to start at right tackle.

Mills is also out after being ruled questionable to play. He suffered an ankle injury during last week’s game and was limited in practice this week. Mills and Ronald Darby — who was placed on injured reserve earlier this week — being out means the Eagles will start Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones at cornerback. Those two haven’t both started since the Eagles’ 38 to 20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings back in Week 6. Going to need a much better showing this time around.

Jordan Howard is officially active for his first Eagles game since Week 9. He’s expected to have a smaller role behind Miles Sanders and Boston Scott after previously serving as the team’s main running back. It’ll be interesting to see how much Howard plays.

Miller, Sudfeld, and Opeta are regular healthy scratches. Nate Herbig is active for just the second time this season.

New York Giants Inactives List

The Giants are going to be without oft-torched starting cornerback Sam Beal. His replacement might only be better ... but what if he’s even worse?
