The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their big Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Note that today’s report is only an estimation since they had a walk-through.
Three players were listed as DID NOT PARTICIPATE: starting right tackle Lane Johnson, starting wide receiver Nelson Agholor, and starting defensive end Derek Barnett.
Johnson was described as “week-to-week” last week but Doug Pederson has since referred to his status as “day-to-day.” Johnson was in a boot as recently as Sunday so it’s far from a lock that he plays. But he’s so tough that he just might be able to pull it off. We’ll see how he progresses through the week here.
Agholor’s status was described by Pederson as “status quo.” Doesn’t seem like he’s progressing towards a return this week. The Eagles could be down to just three wide receivers in Greg Ward, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Robert Davis once again.
Barnett watched practice from the sidelines. Pederson has made it sound like he might be able to return for Sunday’s game but, again, we’ll have to see how he gets through the rest of the week.
Four players were listed as LIMITED PARTICIPANTS: starting running back Jordan Howard, starting right guard Brandon Brooks, starting defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, and starting cornerback Ronald Darby.
Howard was put in the same boat as Agholor in terms of being “status quo.” Guessing he won’t play despite a report that indicated he might be able to play against the Cowboys. If Howard misses the Cowboys game, he’ll have been out for 49 days since getting hurt after once being described as “day-to-day.”
Brooks and Cox are surprise additions to the injury report. They’re banged up but I can’t imagine they’ll be missing such a critical game.
Darby was in and out of the lineup in Washington after suffering a hip flexor injury during last Friday’s practice. He might not be able to play the full game against Dallas.
Jalen Mills notably isn’t listed on the injury report after being limited with an elbow issue last week.
The Eagles put Kamu Grugier-Hill on injured reserve earlier today.
We’ll learn more abut the team’s injury situation when they put out their second injury report on Thursday afternoon.

DALLAS COWBOYS INJURY REPORT (WEDNESDAY)
Cowboys starting quarterback was officially limited due to an injury to his throwing shoulder. The expectation is that Prescott won’t miss Sunday’s game but one must wonder if his condition could limit his passing ability.
Starting left tackle Tyron Smith didn’t practice because he can’t really open one of his eyes right now.
Michael Bennett and Sean Lee both played in Week 15 despite being ruled questionable on the final injury report. Imagine they’ll be good for this week’s game as well.
Leighton Vander Esch hasn’t played since Week 11. He’s reportedly out for this Sunday’s game.
