The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report on Thursday in advance of their Week 15 game against the Washington Redskins.
Three players DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Nelson Agholor, Lane Johnson, and Derek Barnett.
Agholor is trending towards missing this week’s game. With Agholor potentially out and Alshon Jeffery now on injured reserve, the Eagles are down to the following three wide receivers: JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward, and Robert Davis (called up from the practice squad and wearing the No. 14 jersey). The team also feels comfortable with lining up third string tight end Joshua Perkins as a receiver.
Johnson is definitely going to miss this week’s game. He could easily be out even longer considering that Doug Pederson recently described him as “week-to-week.” Halapoulivaati Vaitai will start at right tackle in the meantime.
Barnett is on track to miss his second game in a row. The Eagles started Vinny Curry opposite of Brandon Graham on Monday so they’ll likely do that again. Josh Sweat and Daeshon Hall will also see an increase in playing time.
Two players were LIMITED PARTICIPANTS: Jordan Howard and Jalen Mills.
Until we hear that Howard’s been cleared for contact, we can only assume he’s going to be out. The Eagles will have Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, and Jay Ajayi available on Sunday. Scott clearly deserves more playing time after providing a spark against the New York Giants. Ajayi shouldn’t really be playing at all.
Pederson indicated that Mills should be able to play in Washington. The team could be taking it easy on him to get him to Sunday.
One player was listed as a FULL PARTICIPANT: Kamu Grugier-Hill.
Grugier-Hill is on track to return to his role as the special teams captain and second linebacker next to Nigel Bradham.
This is a problem with the NFL and concussions. Kamu Grugier-Hill told me today he told medical personnel on the field in Miami that he’d hurt his shoulder when he knew he’d hit his head. “Can’t go out on the first play” he said. Eventually admitted concussion symptoms last week.
