Eagles vs. Dolphins Week 13 game preview and predictions

Get right game?

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles have lost two games in a row. Their offense has been dreadful. They’ve only managed to score 13 points on their last 25 drives, excluding garbage time.

And yet, despite these struggles, the Eagles are 10-point road favorites in their Week 13 game against the Miami Dolphins.

This should be a get right game for the Birds. The Dolphins rank dead last in DVOA and point differential. Miami is starting a bunch of nobody defensive backs in their secondary. The Eagles, meanwhile, are getting Lane Johnson, Brandon Brooks, Alshon Jeffery, and Nelson Agholor back. Carson Wentz should be able to bounce back after poor showings over the past two weeks.

This isn’t to suggest the Dolphins are totally going to lay down from the jump. Miami actually won two games last month. But those wins came against Brian Hoyer and Adam Gase. The Eagles have no good reason to lose to this Dolphins team. They outmatch Miami and they should have home field advantage on the road with plenty of Philly fans traveling down to Hard Rock Stadium.

The Eagles can still win the NFC East if they lose this one and win their final four games. But, c’mon. The Eagles don’t deserve to win the division if they can’t beat the Dolphins. It’s time for the Birds to get back to playing good football. If the Eagles are going to go on a run down the stretch, it needs to start today.

No excuses. Get it done.
