Nick Foles keeps his starting job with the Jaguars

Minshew Mania is over. For now, at least.

The Jacksonville Jaguars officially confirmed that Nick Foles is still the team’s starting quarterback on Tuesday afternoon.

There was previously some thought that the 2018 Super Bowl MVP would be benched in favor of rookie sensation Gardner Minshew, who had been playing well in relief of an injured Foles.

But then Minshew went out and laid a stinker in a critical Week 9 game against the Houston Texans. The 2019 sixth-round pick threw two picks and lost two fumbles in a 26 to 3 loss.

And so now Foles will start for the Jaguars in Week 11 for the first time since injuring his collar bone in Week 1.

The Jags currently sit third in the AFC South standings at 4-5. Here’s a look at their remaining schedule:

The Jags have an opportunity to make a playoff push if Foles plays well. Philadelphia Eagles fans, of course, will always be rooting for BDN’s success.

Some of them will also be lamenting the Eagles’ decision to keep Carson Wentz over Foles. I’m sure that sentiment won’t ever get annoying, though.
