The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their 2019 NFL Week 9 game against the Chicago Bears.
The following seven Eagles players have been ruled INACTIVE: Jason Peters, Nigel Bradham, Sidney Jones, Nate Sudfeld, Daeshon Hall, Shareef Miller, and Nate Herbig.
The big news here is that DeSean Jackson is NOT among the inactive players. He’s officially suiting up for the first time since Week 2. Great to see.
Timmy Jernigan and Andrew Sendejo are also active despite being ruled questionable on the final injury report. Jernigan figures to start next to Fletcher Cox for the first time since Week 2.
Peters and Bradham were ruled out on Friday’s final injury report. Andre Dillard will make his third career start at left tackle and it’s a big test for him as he goes up against Khalil Mack. Bradham will once again be replaced by Nathan Gery at middle linebacker. Kamu Grugier-Hill and Nathan Gerry will also see time at linebacker.
Jones being a healthy scratch is certainly not a good development for the 2017 second-round pick. He’s clearly behind practice squad call up Craig James on the depth chart. Jones will be the SEVENTH corner in the pecking order once Cre’Von LeBlanc is activated from injured reserve.
The Eagles’ trade for Genard Avery pushed Hall and Miller down the defensive end depth chart. Avery is active for his first game with the Eagles and just the third game all year in 2019. It’ll be interesting to see how much he plays after only arriving in Philly earlier this week.
Pryor and Herbig are healthy scratches once again. Herbig hasn’t been active for a single game all season long.
Avonte Maddox is back for the first time since Week 4. He’ll serve as the Eagles’ nickel cornerback.
