Carson Wentz is doing nothing to silence his skeptics who believed the Philadelphia Eagles should’ve kept Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles as their starting quarterback instead.
Wentz hasn’t played well recently and is coming off one of the worst games of his career in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Two interceptions and three fumbles ain’t gonna cut it.
But while some are clamoring for Foles to come back to Philly and replace Wentz, Foles himself is struggling with his new team. The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-3 in Foles’ starts this season and they’ve been outscored 75 to 30 since he returned to the lineup following his collarbone injury.
The Jags’ playoff chances essentially went down the drain with Foles failing to win two big AFC South rivalry matchups over the past two weeks. He logged a mere 86.6 passer rating through those games.
Some Jags fans are calling for Foles to benched in favor of rookie sensation Gardner Minshew. Including our SB Nation associates over at Big Cat Country:
It's just too bad the Jacksonville Jaguars are only allowed to play Nick Foles and not any other quarterbacks on their roster.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought we were listing out quarterbacks we'd rather have than Nick Foles.
I'd feel like watching the second half. https://t.co/tRy0z59u1f

We paid him 88 million dollars.

If you're fine with 0-3 and the same yards per attempt as Mason Rudolph, well, I have some ocean front property I'd like to sell you. https://t.co/j3mcmo1NnC
Nick Foles is making more money than Drew Brees, Tom Brady, or Kirk Cousins this year. https://t.co/92ra1m0jwx

The defense also fell apart against the Panthers and Broncos.

Guess who kept those games from becoming blowouts. https://t.co/O9gUEDVhjY
If your argument is that Foles would be playing better in Philly than he is with the Jags, well, maybe. But maybe not. One must acknowledge that Foles is working with former Eagles quarterback coach John DeFilippo as his offensive coordinator in Jacksonville. You know, the same quarterback coach Foles had when he won the Super Bowl. It’s not like he’s struggling in some unfamiliar offense.
Regardless, Eagles fans clamoring for Foles won’t accomplish much. He’ll always be a legend in Philly but he’s gone and he’s not coming back, even if the Jags go back to Minshew. The Eagles are clearly locked in to Wentz as their franchise quarterback. It’s up to Wentz to play better and the Eagles to surround him with more support to help him execute at a higher level.
