Tom Brady was added to the New England Patriots’ injury report ahead of their Week 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Brady is officially questionable to play due to a shoulder issue that limited him in Friday’s practice.
This development really couldn’t have come at a worse time for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Had this injury occurred last week, the Eagles could’ve potentially avoided facing Brady. Perhaps rookie fourth-round pick Jarrett Stidham — the Patriots’ backup quarterback— would’ve turned the ball over a couple times in his first NFL start and the Eagles could’ve won.
Instead, now it might be the Cowboys who benefit from Stidham’s inexperience. And Dallas winning this week’s game against New England would be very bad for the Eagles. For starters, the Eagles could potentially fall two games behind the Cowboys if Philly loses to the Seattle Seahawks. The other downside is that a Cowboys win over New England neutralizes the “common games” tiebreaker that Philly currently possesses over Dallas.
Even if Brady doesn’t miss Sunday’s game, it’s still not great to see him listed on the injury report like this; he’ll likely be playing at less than 100%.
#Patriots QB Tom Brady, who was listed as questionable on the injury report, is expected to play, source said. More managing the elbow and taking care of it than anything.
