The Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 12 game against the Seattle Seahawks is no longer scheduled to be on Sunday Night Football. The NFL officially moved the matchup to a 1:00 PM kickoff on FOX.
This announcement doesn’t come as a total surprise since there was previously some thought this scenario might happen. Good call by our friends over at Field Gulls.
Replacing the Eagles versus Seahawks game will be an even bigger NFC battle between the Green Bay Packers (8-2) and the San Francisco 49ers (8-1). The outcome of that game could potentially determine who ends up with the No. 1 seed.
The Eagles may stand to benefit from their game being flexed out of Sunday night. Now the Seahawks will have to fly across the country and deal with an early 10:00 AM Pacific Time start. The Eagles will take any advantage they can get against a tough Seahawks team that they’ve never been able to beat with Russell Wilson under center.
The Eagles previously played on Sunday Night Football in their Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Week 12 was set to be their penultimate prime-time slot but now their next and last night game will take place when they face the New York Giants on Monday Night Football in Week 14.
