The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed cornerback Ajene Harris to their practice squad, according to an official announcement from the team. (As expected.)
The Eagles cut Harris, an undrafted rookie free agent out of USC, last week in order to make room for the more experienced D.J. White. The Atlanta Falcons signed White away from the Eagles on Tuesday, however, leaving Philadelphia with a practice squad vacancy to fill. And so Harris is back.
The Eagles will now have at least six cornerbacks for this week’s practice sessions: Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Craig James, Orlando Scandrick, Ryan Lewis, and Harris.
Jones was limited in practice all of last week and was active for Sunday’s Jets game but didn’t play a single snap. Doug Pederson expects Jones to be able to play against the Vikings this weekend.
Q. What’s CB Sidney Jones’ status? Do you anticipate him being able to actually get on the field and play Sunday?
DOUG PEDERSON: Yeah, I anticipate that. We should integrate him more into practice this week. He missed last week as far as practice reps go. So we should get him into practice this week and expect him next Sunday.
Ronald Darby and Avonte Maddox, who is still sporting a neck brace, are not expected to play in Minnesota. The team will also be without Jalen Mills until at least Week 7 and Cre’Von LeBlanc until at least Week 9.
