The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their Week 5 game against the New York Jets.
Ronald Darby, Alex Ellis, DeSean Jackson, Timmy Jernigan, and Avonte Maddox did not participate in practice. They’ll all likely be out this week.
Sidney Jones, Derek Barnett, and Jason Peters were limited participants. Jones seems on track to play this Sunday, albeit at less than 100%. It should be him, Rasul Douglas, Orlando Scandrick, and Craig James active at cornerback. Peters is a new addition to the injury repor; we’ll have to see how he handles Friday’s practice.
Jason Kelce returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session due to the birth of his first child. Congrats to the Kelce family!

NEW YORK JETS INJURY REPORT (THURSDAY)
Jets starting quarterback Sam Darnold was limited for the second day in a row. He told reporters that he’s feeling good but that he needs want to be safe so he doesn’t die via spleen rupture.
I locked in on the part about making sure he doesn’t die but the full quote from Darnold was very good. pic.twitter.com/AeJWF6vqZv

I still find it hard to believe Darnold’s going to play on Sunday. The downside is that he could literally die. The upside is ... advancing to 1-3 in the best case scenario. Hmm, what’s more important?
Starting edge rusher Jordan Jenkins, starting linebacker C.J. Mosley, and starting guard Kelechi Osemele all missed practice for the second day in a row. Not a good sign for their playing chances.
Veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas didn’t practice on Wednesday but he was upgraded to limited on Thursday. Maybe the Jets will have him this week.
