The Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent tight end Scott Orndoff to their practice squad, according to an official announcement from the team.
Finally, the big move prior to the NFL trade deadline that everyone was waiting for!
The Eagles had a practice squad vacancy after promoting Bruce Hector to the active roster this past Friday.
Orndoff has a little familiarity with the Eagles. The Waynesburg, Pennsylvania native participated in Philadelphia’s 2019 rookie minicamp as a tryout player back in May.
Orndoff, who turns 26 in December, went undrafted out of Pittsburgh following the 2017 NFL Draft. He’s previously bounced around the league on some offseason rosters and practice squads.
The Eagles only have two tight ends on the 53-man roster in Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert. Now the team also has two on the practice squad with Orndoff and Joshua Perkins.
