It’s Week 8 of the 2019 NFL season and the 3-4 Philadelphia Eagles will take on the 5-1 Buffalo Bills in New York. (You read that right. The Buffalo Bills are 5-1.)
In a typical season, taking the Eagles would be expected to (easily) beat the Bills. But, this is not a typical season, and the recent Super Bowl winners are the underdog heading into the contest.
Following the (incredibly irritating and super dumb) loss to the Cowboys last weekend, the Eagles are now in second place for the NFC East. The Bills are also in second place in the AFC East, and are the only competition for the Patriots, with the Jets (1-5) and Dolphins (0-6) not likely to catch up.
The two teams last faced each other in 2015, Chip Kelly’s final season as head coach, and it was the first time LeSean McCoy returned to The Linc as a visitor. The Eagles won in a close 23-20 battle in Philly. A lot has changed since then — Sam Bradford was the Eagles QB in that game —, and Zach Ertz and Nelson Agholor are the only starters still with the team.
Doesn’t really matter though, ultimately these are two pretty unfamiliar franchises, and at this point there’s no way of knowing whether the Eagles who beat the Packers will show up, or the ones we saw the last two weeks.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
