The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their Week 8 game against the Buffalo Bills.
Seven players did not participate in Wednesday’s practice: Lane Johnson, DeSean Jackson, Jason Peters, Nigel Bradham, Avonte Maddox, Timmy Jernigan, and Darren Sproles.
Johnson is listed with an illness so one would assume he’ll back at practice tomorrow and fine for Sunday.
Jackson still isn’t practicing. He’s limited to “running and rehab” as Doug Pederson put it. The most recent report on Jackson put his return window between Week 7 and Week 9. So, maybe he’ll be back next week? Or coming off the Eagles’ bye in Week 11?
The way the DeSean Jackson injury has gone for the Eagles is arguably the worst case scenario.

A definitive season-ending injury would’ve allowed them to place him on IR and try to find a replacement.
But now they’re just stuck waiting and it’s unclear if he’ll be effective.
Peters was described as “week-to-week” as of last week so it’ll likely be Andre Dillard starting at left tackle for the second game in a row.
Bradham is expected to “ramp his rehab up this week.” Pederson say the Eagles will “see where he’s at.” Perhaps he has a chance to play against his former team this Sunday but it hardly seems like a sure bet.
Maddox is still in the concussion protocol. He can’t return until he’s cleared be an independent specialist. Thanks, Andrew Sendejo.
Jernigan’s original reported recovery timeline was four-to-six weeks. It’s been five weeks. Maybe he’s back in Week 9? Or Week 11 following the Week 10 bye? The Eagles could sure use him with how thin they are at defensive tackle.
Sproles was described as “week-to-week” as of two weeks ago. He’s expected to miss this week’s game.
Ronald Darby isn’t even listed on the injury report after being limited all last week. He’s set to start at cornerback opposite of Jalen Mills, who returned to the field against the Dallas Cowboys. It’s a bit of a homecoming for Darby as he played for the Bills from 2015 through 2016.
Hassan Ridgeway isn’t on the injury report because the Eagles placed him on injured reserve.
We’ll learn more abut the team’s injury situation when they put out their second injury report tomorrow afternoon.
